Hi Annette. Just wanted to say a big thank you for all you've done for Melanie. She's done really well in French over this past year and is loving the subject again now. I thought she'd got so far behind at her old school that she'd never be able to catch up. But she got an A for her GCSE, (all thanks to you), and now she's going to give the A-Level a go. My company were very keen for me to improve on my basic level of French as my segment is controlled from France. I've learned so much from Annette and made fantastic progress, and I've really enjoyed my lessons. I don't feel at all nervous when I'm attending conferences in Paris now and I'm not in the least phased by having to entertain my French colleagues when they visit the UK. The bonus is that while I've been learning my children have been picking it up too. Great stuff! Thanks Annette.

Hi Annette. I had a very good week at the partner school in France last week. The staff and children were lovely and welcoming but I did find the language a bit hard. I did keep going though and managed to get myself understood (most of the time!!) The village I was in was lovely and I really enjoyed my night in Bordeaux seeing the sights. A beautiful city. Thank you so much for all you did for me, I certainly had more confidence and was willing to have a go, so a big thank you. I would like to keep working on developing my French so will contact you if I am able to squeeze any more funding from the British Council, possibly in the future. Thank you Annette.

I had a conditional offer from Cambridge to study linguistics and I needed to get a grade A French A-Level. I really didn't believe I could do it, especially when I realised what a big step up even the AS is from GCSE. But Annette believed in me and gave me confidence. I managed to get my A and I even got 100% in two of my papers. So I'm really grateful to Annette for all her help, and I'm looking forward to starting at Cambridge after my gap year.

I studied French up to AS level at school, but that was years ago and I always struggled with the speaking and listening aspects of the language. Then having a show to attend in Paris made me realise I needed to focus on improving my listening/speaking for conversational use. But I also needed to improve my general knowledge for communication with African Francophone countries as my company exports agricultural processing machinery. Although Annette works you hard she has a way of making the lessons really enjoyable. I seem to remember laughing quite a lot actually. I've learned such a lot from her. But probably most importantly I've learned how to teach myself and I'm improving all the time. So thanks a million Annette, you're a star! P.S. I just used "lequel" in an email at work today, felt good to put it into practice - thought you'd like to know!

I wanted lessons on a one to one basis to help with my business dealings in France. I thought my French was very limited and I completely lacked confidence. But Annette showed me that I actually knew much more than I realised. I just needed to see how it all fitted together and how to make sense of things that had always been a mystery to me, like the difference between "mieux" and "meilleur". Now there's no stopping me. I have so much fun when I'm on my buying trips in France, and I've made so many new friends too. What's also great though is that Annette is still there, either by phone or email, happy to answer any questions if I get stuck at any time. Thanks so much Annette.

I can't praise Annette's teaching enough. I always had difficulty with languages at school and I never really got further than a few pre-rehearsed phrases. Then I had to have French for a research job I was applying for and they wanted me to do an A-Level. At the age of 29 this seemed like a really daunting prospect and I thought it was going to be a really hard slog. But Annette's infinitely patient, understanding and highly individualised approach soon meant that I was not only making fantastic progress, but actually enjoying the learning process, even the grammar. After just six months I got the A-level, and the job! France is now my No.1 holiday destination too!
